(Some of) The Last Sessions
Another session when the guys played poker cards,
another session when the guys drank beer and booze,
another session when the guys sat around and did nothing,
another session when the guys smoked together freely,
another session when the guys watched tv together,
another session when the guys left stabbed and scarred each other,
another session when the guys slacked till the first bus home.
It wasnt.
At times I complaint to them about how troublesome it was to travel home after the Sessions.
I felt different today,
I kinda enjoyed plugging in my earpiece, listening to some oldies,
smoking a cigarette and walking home slowly.
The lyrics felt more significant tonight as I strolled home.
You start to turn back once in a while to look at the features of the ally leading to the place,
and you start missing the place where we once spent so much of our time together as a group of friends.
We grew up in that place,
we had crazy and fun times, and also times when we quarreled over silly things.
You start to think about the times we spent at the pond, at the park, under the block, at the movie theatres, and ultimately, Tim's place.
The place where we grew up, from a group of friends venturing out from wearing long pants in secondary school till becoming brothers.
I remembered a really close friend of mine, he told another really close friend of mine that it didnt matter that we had to burn the incense to be sworn as blood brothers, because in our hearts, we were already brothers.
1 word from you and I will be there for you.
I shared a special affinity with some of the friends in my group.
I grew up with them and spent most of my time hanging out with them.
Very soon he will be moving out from that special place where we grew up together.
He holds a special place in my heart because I watched him grow up together with some of my friends.
I wish him all the best and I promise him I will not cry the day that special place belongs to another family.
I love all of you guys although I do not say it out in front of you all.
Timmy, if your mum is reading this, do thank her for allow us to wreck havoc in your place, gambling, drinking, smoking, watching tv, reading the newspapers, or just slacking around.
Aunty you have been very kind to us and we all thank you and treat you like our brother's mum.
I hope you guys enjoyed the stay just as much as I did.
I will never forget that special 2nd floor,
that special place,
at Tim's,
at 737.
